The USPS announced that it intends to raise postage rates on mailing services on May 31, 2015. But it will need the approval of the Postal Rate Commission (PRC) to do so, and so far the Commission has been less than impressed by the math used by USPS to support it’s rate increases. Until the new rates are approved by the PRC the actual rates are undetermined since the USPS could be mandated to adjust it’s new structure. So how do mailers anticipate and plan for the new rates? They don’t.
At DXO Communications, the areas best provider of presort, lettershop and mailing services, we advise that they wait and see and enjoy the unintentional extension of current rates until the new rates go into effect. This is the honeymoon period for postage rates. Enjoy it while you can.
